Restaurant POS software built for Indian service, not just cloud dashboards

Chefy is restaurant POS software that keeps billing, kitchen tickets, and waiter service alive on the branch machine even when the internet drops — then syncs to Restaurant Admin when the line returns.

What restaurant POS software must do on a busy floor

A restaurant POS is not a spreadsheet with a printer button. On a Friday night it has to open tables, fire KOTs, split bills, take UPI or cash, and keep the kitchen queue honest. If the system freezes when Wi‑Fi wobbles, you lose tickets — and trust.

Chefy’s branch desktop is the system of record for open orders. The cloud admin is for menu, users, insights, and multi-branch control. That split is intentional: the dining room should never wait on a SaaS round-trip to print a KOT.

  • Offline-first POS on Windows with local SQLite storage
  • Kitchen Display System (KDS) and traditional KOT printing
  • Waiter Hub for floor staff on phones
  • QR customer menu ordering without an app install
  • Hisaab Book for daily cash and expense close
  • Restaurant Admin cloud for menu, licenses, and Insights

How Chefy POS is structured

Each licensed branch installs Chefy for Windows. Staff work Tables, POS, Kitchen, Waiter, and Hisaab on that station. Paid tickets can sync to cloud Insights when Sync Cloud is enabled for the branch. Managers log into Restaurant Admin on test.chefy.cloud or chefy.cloud to edit the master menu, set operator names, and review branch performance.

Pricing for restaurant POS software from Chefy

Chefy plans are published on the product site as Starter ₹3,999/month (1 branch, offline POS, KDS tablet), Growth ₹7,999/month (up to 5 branches, Waiter Hub, QR ordering), and Enterprise ₹14,999/month (unlimited branches, SLA, onboarding). Annual billing is offered with roughly 16% savings versus paying month to month.

Starter is sized for a single outlet that needs reliable billing and kitchen tickets. Growth adds Waiter Hub and QR ordering for denser service. Enterprise is for groups that need unlimited branches and onboarding support. Always confirm the live plan card on the Chefy homepage before you purchase — those rupee amounts are the published list prices.

Who this restaurant POS is for

Chefy fits independent restaurants, cafés, sweet shops, and multi-branch groups that cannot pause service during ISP outages. It is less suitable if you only need a pure cloud tablet checkout with no local kitchen routing. If your kitchen still runs paper KOTs and your cashier needs GST-ready bills in INR, start with the offline billing guide and the buyer’s posts on the Chefy blog.

Implementation checklist

Download the Windows installer from the Chefy download page, activate with a license key issued in Restaurant Admin, sync the menu, configure printers and KDS stations, add operator names (and switch PINs if you share a counter), then train one shift on Tables → bill → Hisaab close. Keep one past Hisaab day open only if you are deliberately testing the unclosed-day reminder — otherwise close yesterday before today’s rush.

Chefy restaurant POS software is maintained as versioned cloud + desktop releases. Validate new builds on your UAT host before promoting production restaurants.
